QUAD ELECTROSTATIC COPPER FRONTED STEREO SPEAKERS (PROJECT)

Description

Bought as a restoration project but due to workshop relocation they won’t be repaired for some time.

Kettle lead adapters have been fitted for testing (they are soldered) the speakers power and the sound is clear (and lovely) but quiet with a very slight crackle. This is indicative of the caps needing replacing. Service kits are around £100 each. From here.

Likewise there are established repairers across the UK / world.

There is some damage / marks / wood splits in numerous places from poor storage. The ‘side timber’ has been stripped and resealed. The internal seals (the plastic sheets) are all good and the static panels seem to be in good working order. The power supply is working fine. I have not opened the ‘amplification module’

Original screws and power fittings are included.
